SOUP: A Love Language Series 2024

Soup is the ultimate soul-satisfying, cold weather comfort. Connect with the changing of the seasons and your body’s intuitive craving for warming, grounding foods through this in-depth cooking series featuring soups that comfort and satiate. Store-bought soup is great in a pinch, but there’s NOTHING like homemade.

Something special happens when we cook together: even when it’s virtual.
Cooking in community helps us feel connected to our food and to ourselves, to the people who grew it, and to each other.

During each 75-minute online class, we’ll cook an interesting and tasty soup together and you’ll have dinner ready at the end of each class. In addition to each soup recipe, you’ll also learn how to garnish each soup with something that will add nutrient density, color, and expression to your bowl (see below for recipe titles).

You’ll learn nutrition facts about each recipe, and tips and tricks to layer flavors so that your soups taste meaningful and memorable.

I’ll teach you ways to modify the recipes for dietary preferences and ingredient availability so that you can begin to cook intuitively (Each soup is naturally gluten and dairy-free).

Buy classes a la carte, or buy a package of all four classes at a discount. Recordings are provided if you can’t attend live.

RECIPES:

  •   Thursday January 18th 5:00-6:15pm MT: Mineral Broth
    • This purifying, mineral-rich vegetable broth recipe is based on Rebecca Katz’s recipe; Katz is an expert on cooking for brain health, and though she doesn’t know it (yet), she mentors me from afar :). We’ll make a big batch of it together that you can sip on by itself AND freeze to use later in the following recipes. There’s no broth like this on the grocery shelves, and it’s worth it to make it from scratch.
  • Thursday January 25th 5:00-6:15pm MT: Oaxacan White Bean Stew
    • Unexpected and filling, this recipe takes me straight back to the vibrancy of Oaxaca: the people, the food, the color. I can’t wait to share it with you.
  • Thursday February 1st 5:00-6:15pm MT: Chicken Pot Pie Soup
    • Creamy and comforting. Crave-able. Everything you love about a traditional chicken pot pie, in soup form. Gluten and Dairy free.
  • Thursday February 8th: Hearty Kale and Sausage Soup
    • Satiating, nutrient-dense. This one packs a punch with a potent dose of brain-supportive leafy greens and is THE perfect one-pot meal.

Minimum 8 people per class.
